Ham House & Garden

Situated on the right bank of the river Thames in close proximity to Richmond and Kingston-upon-Thames, with excellent transport links to central London and easy access to the M25, Ham House is unique in Europe as the most complete survival of 17th century fashion.

Built in 1610 the house was much enlarged in the 1670’s by the Duke and Duchess of Lauderdale, when it was at the heart of Restoration court life. It was then occupied by the same family until 1948 when it was bequeathed to the National Trust.
The 17th Century Orangery is available throughout the year for evening receptions, product launches and other functions. Now converted into a flexible, stylish and intimate entertaining space for up to 90 guests standing or 60 seated, the Orangery is the oldest freestanding building of its kind in Britain. For larger functions, we suggest you consider setting up a marquee in the atmospheric 17th century Orangery Garden.
