Le QuecumBar is proud to be celebrating its 5th year in business. With many venues coming and going within 6 or 12 months this is quite an achievement and they will be celebrating in style, throughout the year.

 

Le QuecumBar in Battersea, is a unique 1930.s, Parisian live music wine bar and brasserie hosting nightly live music.  It is dedicated to promoting and supporting Django Reinhardt Gypsy Swing and those who perform it.  The opening in February 2003 coincided with the 50th anniversary of Django Reinhardt death . the Gypsy Swing guitar genius. Owner, Sylvia Rushbrooke, dreamt up the idea of a Gypsy Jazz restaurant at the annual Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine 5 years before Le QuecumBar came to life. The bar oozes his spirit from the music to the simple French style cuisine and good value wines that are served.

 

In celebration of their 5th Birthday they are holding a huge birthday party jam session for customers, friends, fans and regular musicians on Sunday 10th February. Gary Potter, UK.s finest Gypsy Swing player will lead the evening.s jam session with special guest from France the Gypsy guitar master, young Ritary Gaguenetti and rock steady swinging double bass, Andy Crowdy, plus all Le QuecumBars year round regular musicians. Tickets cost £15 and include a full buffet, doors open at 6.30pm. 

Le QuecumBar.s icing on the cake is undoubtedly the monthly Prestige Performance Concerts featuring the best Gypsy Swing players from around the world allowing the audience to be up close and really feel the action. Throughout February and March several Prestige concerts host such salubrious performers and Patrons as USAs John Jorgenson Quintet, Biel Ballester and Gustav Lundgren. On Valentine.s Day Ava Golding will entertain the bar with vocals and piano promising a romantic evening of Jazz, Swing and Blues. (Click here for more information on Events)

A place to relax with friends over a glass of wine and a tasty meal while enjoying the unique sounds and rhythmns of Gypsy Swing.
