Yoga in Barnes SW13

Tuesday Evenings 8-9.30pm

These classes are taught by Chandra Prince at the British Ballet Organisation, 39 Lonsdale Road, Barnes SW13. They are held on a drop-in basis and there is no need to book in advance.

The class is suitable for all ages and abilities and is based on classical yoga involving postures, breathing, concentration and relaxation. The studio is situated directly opposite the entrance to St Paul's School. There is some off street parking available.

The cost is £9 per individual class or £80 for a 10 class card.
The first class is Free.

Yoga in Blackfriars EC4

Monday Evenings 7-8pm

These drop-in classes are taught by Chandra at St Bride Institute, Bride Lane near Blackfriars. The class is suitable for all ages and abilities and is based on classical yoga involving postures, breathing, concentration and relaxation.

The class is held on a 'drop-in' basis, and it offers an ideal way to develop one’s regular yoga practice. There is no need to book in advance. The class is held in the ‘Camera Club Room’ on the top floor. Please ask at reception for directions.

The cost is £10 per individual class or £90 for a 10 class card.
The first class is Free.

Private and Group Classes

For those people who are unable to attend a regular class or would like the opportunity to work on a one-to-one basis or as a small group with a yoga teacher, it is possible to arrange classes in your home or workplace.

Information

What Type of Yoga
You will be learning classical Yoga as taught by Swami Vishnu-devananda, founder of the Sivananda Yoga Centres. A world renowned exponent of Hatha and Raja Yoga, Swami Vishnu was sent from India in 1957 by his Master, Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh to spread the practice of yoga in the West.

Preparation for Classes

It is recommended that you do not eat for at least 2 -3 hours before a class. Wear comfortable loose clothing. Please make sure mobile phones are turned off! Yoga mats are provided but students are encouraged to bring their own.

The Teachers

Chandra was personally trained under the guidance of Swami Vishnu-devananda, founder of the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres. He has taught yoga since 1980 to people of all ages and levels, and spent eight years with the Sivananda Yoga Centres in India.

Ishwari is an experienced Sivananda Trained teacher, who as well as teaching regular classes, specialises in pre and post natal yoga.

Uma trained with the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres and has been teaching since 1988. She has tremendous experience teaching people from all walks of life, all ages and levels. Staying true to the ancient classical teachings of yoga, Uma’s class consists of breathing exercises, deep relaxation, yoga postures and concentration.
