South Bank - Travel
This area is extremely well served by public transport and has good access by road. There is limited car parking space available, and some of this is expensive and insecure.
Rail The main rail stations are Waterloo and Waterloo East. Charing Cross and Blackfriars stations are just a brief walk over the river. All have easy connections to the London Underground. These stations mainly serve the south of England. The Thameslink service, calling at London Bridge and Blackfriars, runs from St Albans, Luton and Bedford through London to Gatwick Airport and Brighton. Eurostar runs regular high speed services through the channel tunnel directly to and from Brussels, Paris, Lille, Calais and Disneyland Paris. Road This area is easily accessible by road, however parking is often limited and expensive. If visiting this area by car it is best to avoid the morning and evening rush hours, which run from approximately 0700-1000 and 1600-1900. Try and avoid the Elephant and Castle roundabouts at all times because driving around here is not for the faint hearted.
Tubes Waterloo is the main Underground station and is in travel zone one. It serves the following lines: Northern (Black) - Charing Cross branch. Bakerloo (Brown) Waterloo and City (Light green) Jubilee (Grey)
