The Thames Boat Project Charity

The River Thames Boat Project is a registered charity that owns Richmond Venturer, a specially converted Dutch barge which is fully accessible to people with disabilities and equipped with a variety of educational resources about the Thames.

We believe that the River Thames Boat Project is only organisation of its kind operating on the Thames and that it is unique in offering:

The charity is run by one full-time and one part-time member of staff, and a qualified sessional skipper, who are assisted by a team of volunteers. So we can continue to provide our services at subsidised rates, income is raised through grants, by public donation and the Venture is occasionally made available for corporate events.

Funds are needed to further develop our range of activities on the Thames and to provide fun and enjoyment through our river trips for community groups; education programmes for children and young people; and volunteering opportunities for people who are interested in boats and the river.
