The River Thames Society

Formed in 1962, it seeks to promote and support all activities associated with the river including sports, leisure and culture. It tries to speak up for the River wherever possible, monitoring riverside planning applications, campaigning for increased funding for the non-tidal and sustainable regeneration and planning on the Thames Tideway. Recent successes include saving Borough Marsh near Wargrave, instigating the Thames Traditional Boat Rally and campaigning in support of the Thames Barrier.
