Stanley Spencer was born and lived in Cookham all his life and his paintings are inspired by the vistas of the Church, the High Street and the River Thames.

The Stanley Spencer Gallery is situated in Kings Hall in the village of Cookham Berkshire and contains a permanent collection of his work, together with letters and memorabilia, including the pram in which Spencer wheeled his equipment when painting landscapes. The works exhibited include the famous "Christ Preaching at Cookham "Regatta" .

The Gallery is open daily from 1st April to 1st November from 10.30am to 5.30pm, and from 11.00am to 4.30pm on Thursdays to Sundays in the winter months.

Admission £3, Concessions £2, children under 16 free.
