The Tate Britain Art Gallery on Millbank exhibits British art from AD1500 to the present day. 

Tate Britain holds the largest collection of British art including major works of art by Blake, Constable, Epstein, Gainsborough, Gilbert, Hirst, Hockney, Hogarth, Moore, Rossetti, Sickert, Spencer, Stubbs and Turner - to name but a few.                                                                                  Photo courtesy SW

Tate Britain holds a programme of free gallery tours, talks lectures and films every day of the week. It also hosts some spectacular special exhibitions such as the one of the paintings and drawings of the Tudor artist Hans Holbein. 

Tate Britain is located on the north bank of the Thames at Millbank near the Houses of Parliament. 

Nearest Tube station Pimlico (Victoria line) or go to Westminster (District Jubilee and Circle lines) then take the 87 or 88 bus.  The 87 stops outside the front of the gallery on Millbank.  The 88 stops in John Islip Street at the back of the gallery.
