Prince Henry's Room

17 Fleet Street
LONDON EC4

This building stands in Fleet Street nearly opposite the Royal Courts of Justice.  It is a half-timbered erection which was built in 1611 and it is named in honour of King James Ist's eldest son.  It is one of the few City buildings that survived the Great Fire of London.

It has beautiful oak panelling in the interior,  and the intricate plaster ceiling is intact.  The little house is a delight to see.  The building houses a small collection of memorabilia of Samuel Pepys, the famous diarist, who wrote about the Great Fire of London.

NB: The building is closed for refurbishment currently

Nearest Tube station: Temple
