Tours begin every 15-30 minutes during opening hours. An exhibition visit and theatre tour lasts about one and a half hours. Reduced rates are available for groups of 15 or more. Groups should book in advance. For information or to book a tour, call 020 7902 1500.

During matinee performances in the theatre guided tours of the Globe are not possible. Visitors can instead join a Bankside History Tour which includes exclusive access to the nearby site of Bankside’s first theatre: the Rose, built in 1587. It was at this playhouse that Shakespeare’s early plays were performed and for which Christopher Marlowe and Thomas Kydd wrote their greatest works. The Rose is the only Elizabethan playhouse that has been excavated on a large scale by archaeologists and this site provided vital information for the final design of the Globe Theatre.
