Dorchester on Thames is one of those delightful old riverside towns with a history that goes back several centuries. It is unspoiled, with a famous 12th century Abbey and lots of mediaeval and Tudor buildings, and well worth a visit.  You can moor close to the town and a short walk will bring you to several local hostelries, shops and the Abbey.
