Abingdon

Oxon

Abingdon is one of thise delightful quintessentially English market towns that are strewn along the valley of the River Thames.  It is located due south of the city of Oxford, but is very idfferent to Oxford in style and feel.  It sits on the River Thames and offers moorings and lots of nice pubs and places to eat for the tired boaters.

In the middle of the town, a short walk from the bridge across the Thames, is the famous Town Hall. It is in the centre of the market place.

You can enjoy some gentle walks along the banks of the River Thames either up towards Oxford or down the river towards Clifton Hampden.  The town is well served by the local bus service.
