This renowned museum explores the history and development of science and technology.  It covers such topics as the Industrial Revolution, right through to the exploration of Space. Further exhibitions include the science of food and food technology, computers and their impact on our daily lives and the emergence of nuclear power and its impact. There are imaginative hands-on galleries for children with lots of buttons to push and levers to work.  The Wellcome Wing focusses on science and medicine and includes an IMAX cinema.   There is even a gallery devoted to science in the home - called the Secret Life of the Home - which includes the history of labour saving gadgets used in our homes from Victorian times to the present day.
This is a great day out visit for one of those rainy days in the school holidays.  The Museum also puts on frequent special exhibitions especially for children - phone the museum for up to date details.
Nearest Tube Station: South Kensington ( District and Piccadilly Lines) Parking difficult.
