The museum has recently moved to a new home and has been completely redesigned to present the long history of the Spelthorne area in a modern and attractive way. Displays range from the woolly mammoths that roamed the area in the Ice Age, to the remains of the Roman town of Staines (which had the only bridge over the Thames outside London), and the historic London Stone which marked the jurisdiction of the City of London over the Thames as far as Staines. There are also displays on the industries of the area, including boatbuilding. A photographic archive can be accessed via computer.
