St James's Park

This beautiful park sits on the south side of The Mall and contains an ornamental lake with wildfowl such as pelicans.  It provides a much needed area of green open space among the offices and high rise offices and shops. There are beautiful views both towards Whitehall with the spires and pinnacles of the government buildings there and towards Buckingham Palace.  There is a small childrens' playing area with swings and a sand pit and lots of seats under the huge trees overlooking the lake.
