Whitehall Gardens

The modern Ministry of Defence building gives way to these very pleasant and airy gardens, dominated by the heroes of various campaigns, including General Gordon who has his eye set firmly on the London Eye over the River. To the rear of the Horse Guards hotel you will find the beautiful building housing the National Liberal Club. Parts of the old Palace of Whitehall (burned down in a fire in AD 1689) still exist, such as the wine cellars, and these can also be seen in the gardens.
