After the racing, a bill of three brilliant stand-up comedians (courtesy of the Comedy Store) will take to the stage to create an atmosphere of happy hilarity while you enjoy a drink of two in the comapny of friends and colleagues.
VARIETY CLUB DAY - 30 AUG 2008
2008 marks the 50th anniversary of our most famous charity day - so it's bound to attract an even bigger haul of celebrities than usual.
The important purpose of the day is to raise much-needed funds to improve the lives of many sick, disabled and disadvantaged children throughout Great Britain.
The meeting has always inspired a special, carnival atmosphere and this year will be no exception.
This is our ultimate family day and we're planning more complimentary entertainment than ever before for children young and old. The Mr Men will be here in force and there'll be face painting and games galore.

Rugby at the Races - 12th September
As the summer draws to a close and the first breath of autumn stirs the trees of leafy Sandown Park, the big boys are limbering up across the country for the start of the rugby season.
Bring along aspiring Jonny Wilkinsons, meet some of the sport's personalities and hone your drop kicking skills in our drop goal with our professional coach on hand to sharpen up your game.
If you wear your nation's rugby shirt, we'll give you £5 off entry to the Grandstand enclosure.
