This magnificent 18th century country house is set in 400 acres of parkland near the River Thames.
It was used as a wartime training camp for British and American soldiers and thus fell on hard times in the early part of the twentieth century.
It was rescued in the 1950s and lovingly restored by Lord and Lady Iliffe who filled their home with fine collections of art, porcelain and furniture. It is now a National Trust property and well worth a visit.
