Buckingham Palace is the world-famous London home of The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. When the Queen is in residence the Royal Standard flag flies above the Palace. The Union Flag flies above the Palace at all other times. The Palace sits at the end of The Mall - the long ceremonial road leading to it from Trafalgar Square. The ceremony of Changing of the Guard takes place outside Buckingham Palace at 11.30 a.m. every day in the spring and summer months, and every other day in the autumn and winter months. Both are open daily throughout the year, and tickets may be purchased at point of entry.
