Buckingham Palace is the world-famous London home of The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. When the Queen is in residence  the Royal Standard flag flies above the Palace.  The Union Flag flies above the Palace at all other times. The Palace sits at the end of The Mall - the long ceremonial road leading to it from Trafalgar Square.

The ceremony of Changing of the Guard takes place outside Buckingham Palace at 11.30 a.m. every day in the spring and summer months, and every other day in the autumn and winter months. For further information call 0891 505 452.

The Queen’s carriages, including the Gold State Coach (Coronation Coach), and magnificent horses can be seen at the Royal Mews, while an exhibition of The Royal Collection of works of art can be seen at The Queen’s Gallery. Both are open daily throughout the year,  and tickets may be purchased at point of entry.

   

 

Buckingham Palace’s State Rooms are open every year in August and September. Special exhibitions are held in the State Rooms each summer. For further information visit their website - see below.Timed tickets can be purchased  in advance, or on the day from the Ticket Office in Green Park, opposite the Palace. A combination ticket may also be booked that includes Buckingham Palace, The Royal Mews, The Queen’s Gallery, Clarence House and Windsor Castle.
