Wellington Arch

Hyde Park Corner
LONDON W1J 7JZ

One of the most splendid landmarks in London, Wellington Arch is now open to the public for the first time in history, after restoration by English Heritage, who now own the Arch and who have done an excellent job in preparing it for public admission.

Originally designed in 1825 as a grand entrance to Buckingham Palace, the Arch has had a fascinating history of both attention and neglect, praise and ridicule, and was once a home to London's smallest Police Station!

Wellington Arch offers a spectacular view of London's skyline, and surrounding Royal Parks, and it also houses an exhibition about London's famous statues and monuments. Paris has got the Arc de Triomphe - come and see London's Wellington Arch and see how they compare
