Ham House

Ham Street
Richmond-upon-Thames
TW10 7RS

Favoured throughout the centuries by kings, artists and politicians, Ham House idyllic and historic setting
provides the stylish surroundings and unique atmosphere for your wedding or civil partnership ceremony and
reception, private celebration or corporate function.

On the right bank of the river Thames in close proximity to Richmond and Kingston-upon-Thames, with
excellent access and transport links to central London, Ham House and Garden is unique in Europe as the
most complete survival of 17th century fashion.

Built in 1610 it was enlarged in the 1670s by the Duke and Duchess of Lauderdale, when it was at the heart of
Restoration court life. It was then occupied by the Tollemache family until 1948 when it was bequeathed to the
National Trust.
The rare 17th century formal gardens are significant for their survival within the area known as the cradle of
the English Landscape Movement and the former Orangery, now converted into a restaurant and functions
room, is the oldest free standing Orangery in England.

Within the house the Great Hall, a splendid 17th century example of aristocratic grandeur, is licensed for civil
wedding and civil partnership ceremonies of up to 60 guests. The room can also be used for a variety of other
events such as music recitals and lectures.

The Orangery Functions Room is the ideal setting for your reception or business meeting and can
accommodate up to 60-seated guests (90 standing).

For larger parties we suggest that your consider setting up a marquee in the exclusive Orangery garden.
