Thames Towns

Famous for having the world's first campsite established in 1901 making it one of the pioneers of camping, Weybridge is a thriving town located in Surrey and standing where the River Thames and River Wey meet. Home of celebrities of TV and entertainment this is an exclusive area with expensive property by any standards with many nice shops, bars, restaurants and hotels. In 2008, six of the ten most expensive streets in South East England (defined as the official government region, excluding Greater London) were in Weybridge.

Weybridge was once the home to Oatlands Palace, (largely destroyed under Cromwell) but the bricks were used to help line the new Wey Canal. The Elmbrige Museum and Library are located in the main shopping street and nearby there is a very pretty church, several pubs, restaurants and good shops  - all worth a visit.

Some of the events include the Concorde Experience at the nearby Brooklands Museum (children go in free). .
