The Trout Inn
The Trout Inn was originally built to house the workers building St. John's Bridge in
1220. Today it is a family run pub serving traditional ales and home cooked food
throughout the year.
We have a large beer garden alongside the river, and in the warmer months you can
watch the river meander by and maybe play a game of ‘Aunt Sally’, while waiting for
your lunch or dinner. A marquee is available during the summer for parties and
functions.
Summer events include a vintage rally, a traditional river craft weekend and
occasional music concerts in the garden. We have a theatre group who perform
during the year, a folk club who meet bi-monthly and who host a folk music weekend
in the summer.
A welcoming log fire awaits you in the winter and you can enjoy warming home-made seasonal meals and play board games.
